These festivities, which take place from 15 to 25 August, bring together concerts, religious events, Moors and Christians celebrations and the ‘Cordà’; passion for gunpowder.
The ‘Cordà de Paterna’, declared a festival of National Tourist Interest, is a unique firework display where over 70 000 firecrackers are let off in a closed off part of the town’s Calle Mayor.
During the early hours of 25 August professional and amateur firework ‘shooters’, dressed in protective clothing, gather to create a spectacle of fire and firecracker noise.
